Mt. St. Helen is a volcano that erupted in May 1982. The top picture shows the mountain (the top part of the mountain was removed by the 1982 eruption) and the remains of trees destroyed by the eruption. The bottom picture is a view of the crater from the top. St. Helen has become active again since October 2004, and a new lava dome has been growing next to the dome you see in the bottom picture.
